Our LED downlights are the safest and most cost effective replacement for current incandescent and fluorescent downlights. Between 2006 and 2008 there were 57 recorded house fires caused directly from halogen downlights. The fire begins in the roof as the insulation is ignited by the extreme heat produced by the light. The halogen light fittings heat up to 300 degrees Celsius making dust, litter and timber beams good fuel for the fire. Because the fire is in the roof, it can go undetected by smoke alarms and residents can be unaware that their house is on fire until the roof collapses.
There is now a LED replacement for the power hungry halogen downlight. It uses a fraction of the power, is much friendlier to the environment, and only heats up to a fraction of the temperature that the halogen lights do.
